Minnie Irene Youngblood, age 95, of Madison, Indiana, and the daughter of the late Earl and Hazel (Demaree) Morrison, was born June 10, 1928, in Ripley County, Indiana. She graduated in 1946 from New Marion School. On July 27, 1947, she was united in marriage to Hermon E. Youngblood, Sr. in Madison, Indiana. Over the years, she worked at US Shoe Factory, Conn Organ, GC Murphy, Hillside Inn, Walmart in Texas and Walmart in Madison. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Madison for over 75 years, RSVP, Women's Auxiliary of American Legion, Senior Citizens in Madison and Senior Citizens in Watauga, Texas. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting, reading, taking pictures, crossword, wordhunts, and was the family historian. Mrs. Youngblood passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2023 at Hickory Creek at Madison.
Her life will be cherished by her children: Hermon Youngblood, Jackie (Doug) Helton, Judy Benge, and Jan Henry; her grandchildren: Myranda Youngblood, Sara (Rob) Cooper, Julie Henry, Jennifer (Colie) Whitaker, Chad (Alex) Benge, Joey Peak and Chase (Ali) Tillery-Youngblood; and her great-grandchildren: Cole, Ethan, Cameron, Destiny, Jade, Kaden, Lexi and Acelyn.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hermon on February 13, 1976; her sisters: Ruth Tucker, Lois Wooten and Evelyn Jean Bush Meadows; her brothers: Don Morrison and Larry Morrison; her granddaughter: Myranda Youngblood; and her son in law, Stan Henry.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday, August 12, 2023 at Lytle Welty Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, on Madison's hilltop with interment to follow in Grandview Memorial Gardens in Madison, Indiana. Friends and family may call at the Lytle Welty Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Vail Chapel from 11:00 AM until time of service on Saturday.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to First Baptist Church or Hickory Creek Activity Fund. Contributions may be made at the Lytle Welty Funeral Home or below.
