Martha Ellen Purvis

Martha Ellen Purvis, age 58, of Greensburg, Indiana, formerly of Madison and the daughter of the late Herbert and Rosemary (Purvis) Jones, was born on October 29, 1965, in Madison. She was first and foremost a Mom, a babysitter and enjoyed arrowhead and mushroom hunting, playing cornhole and pool, and collecting marbles and Indian artifacts. Ms. Purvis passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at her home in Greensburg.

Her life will be cherished by her children: Jayson Ackenback, Brandin Ackenback, and Derek Ackenback, all of Columbus; her sisters: Linda Purvis, of Columbus, Kim Garcia, of Columbus, and Sandra Handlin; her brothers: Kevin Purvis, of Columbus, and Donny "Duck" Purvis, of Columbus; her grandchildren: Carsin, Collin, Cainin, Jaydin, and Jaylynn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Terri Purvis; and her brothers: Gary Purvis, Mike Purvis, and Doug Purvis.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at Lytle Welty Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, on Madison's hilltop. Friends and family may visit at the Lytle Welty Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Vail Chapel from 12:00 PM until the time of the service on Tuesday.
