Life story Updated Service Information Below. Marvin Charles "Lum" Hall, age 79, of Hanover, Indiana, and the son of the late Samuel Thomas and Margaret (Proffitt) Hall, was born on June 29, 1941, in Jefferson County, Indiana. For many years, he owned and operated his own excavating company. He was a longtime member of the Paynesville Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and Alcoholics Anonymous. Through his committed involvement in Alcoholics Anonymous, Lum's Legacy Three-Quarter House was established in downtown Madison. He had a very kind heart and was a great friend to many. In his spare time, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle. Mr. Hall passed away on Monday, November 9, 2020 at the Hanover Nursing Center in Hanover. His life will be cherished by his sons: Marvin Lee Kilgore and his wife, Rachel, of Hanover, and Aaron Christopher Hall, of Seymour, Indiana; his caregiver, Kelley Culver of Madison; and five grandchildren: Ethan, Devin, Cassandra, Kaitlin, and Meaghan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Joy Ann Mitchell, and his brother, George Thomas Hall. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at the Paynesville Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 7975 S. Saluda Paynesville Road, Hanover from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM Saturday, January 23, 2021. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Lum's Legacy House.
