Mary E. (Law) Bullock, age 99, passed away peacefully Saturday, October 30, 2021, at Swiss Villa Nursing and Rehabilitation, Vevay, Indiana.
Mary was born October 19, 1922 in Oldham County, Kentucky, the daughter of William Law. and Bessie Miles, she was the eldest of seven children that were raised and worked on the farms in Kentucky and southern Indiana
In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband Donald E. Bullock, her brother Frank Law, and her sister Louise Hartman.
She moved to Muncie prior to World War II and worked in local businesses. She joined the Women's Auxiliary Corps during the war and was assigned to a tent hospital in New Mexico.
Shortly after the war she met and married Don Bullock with whom she spent the next 71 years until he passed away in 2018. In addition to being a homemaker, she worked in the Daleville School cafeteria and also Ball State University food service. In 1983 she and Don moved to Naples, Florida where she worked for the Naples Daily News, once being named "Employee of the Month".
Mary and Don (posthumously) were awarded the "2020 Jon Menke Award for Military Service" by the city of Madison, IN. She was also honored in the Madison July 4th 2021 parade as one of ten World War II survivors in Jefferson, Switzerland and Trimble Counties.
Mary loved to travel and ventured throughout the United States with her family, mostly by car, while sleeping in tents and cooking and eating on picnic tables. She and Don later traveled as far as Tahiti, the Caribbean, Mexico, Canada, Israel and Greece among others.
Mary had a zeal for life and enjoyed sharing with her family and friends, whether it be supporting Daleville athletic teams, riding horses, snow mobiles, flying with Don or traveling to name a few of her endeavors.
Mary touched the lives of everyone she encountered with her warm smile and friendly nature.
She is survived by three sons, Larry Bullock, (wife, Sara), Vevay, Frank Bullock and Gary Bullock, Muncie. Also ten Grandchildren, Todd Bullock, Alicia Bullock, Andrea Bullock, Haley Bullock Cross, Rachelle Bullock, Miki Bullock, Conner Bullock, Hannah Curtis, Heather Burton, and Blake Bullock. In addition she is survived by 13 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Also, she is survived by three sisters: Pauline Roberts, Muncie, Edna Murphy, Emogene Konkle and a brother, William Law (Wife, Gwen) all of Madison. Additionally, she is survived by dozens and dozens of nieces and nephews and subsequent generations.
