Mary E. (McDole) Humphrey

Life story Mary E. Humphrey, age 79, of Madison, Indiana, and the daughter of the late Raymond and Frances (McDowell) McDole, was born on February 27, 1941, in Trimble County, Kentucky. She moved to Madison in 1958 and was united in marriage to Cecil H. Humphrey, Jr. on February 16, 1968 in Madison. Mrs. Humphrey owned and operated an in-home day care for many years. She enjoyed watching television and working in her flower and vegetable gardens. Mrs. Humphrey passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2020 at her residence in Madison. Her life will be cherished by her son: Adam Davis, Jr. and his wife, Tammie of Lexington, Indiana; her daughters: Debra Lockridge, Kimberly DeBoard and her husband, Lonnie, Tammy Johnson and her husband, Fred, and Rebecca Jones and her husband, Paul, all of Madison; her sisters: Doris Chatham, of Milton, Kentucky and Ellie Skirvin, of Madison; her brothers: Bobby McDole, of Campbellsburg, Kentucky and Carl McDole, of Madison; her first husband, Adam G. Davis, Sr.; twenty-one grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Humphrey who passed away during the Vietnam Conflict on May 31, 1968; her son, Gary Humphrey II; her grandchildren: Gary Humphrey III, Nathaniel Davis, and Kelly Purvis Johnson; her brothers: Kenneth McDole, William McDole, and R.D. McDole; her sisters: Marie Hendricks and Stella Aldridge and four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday July 28, 2020 at Lytle Welty Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, on Madison's hilltop with interment to follow in Moffett Cemetery in Milton, Kentucky. Friends and family may call at the Lytle Welty Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel from 12:00 PM until the time of the service on Tuesday.
