Master Chief (Retired) William H. Stewart (Bill) Shelbyville, Tennessee, passed away November 15, 2023 at the Nashville Veterans Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. Born Dec. 21, 1941, in Madison, Indiana to the late Joseph W. Stewart
and Beatrice Craig Stewart Willman.
He began his Navy career in the United States Navy January 12, 1959 and retired on September 29, 1988. He received numerous metals, his last duty was Commander Cruise Force, U.S. Atlantic Fleet. He served his country well.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Carol J. Stewart; his daughter Kim Antoinette Stewart; his second wife, Beatrice Stewart; his step-father, Albert Willman; his sister, Mary C. Fugate and his brother Joseph L. Stewart.
Survivors include: his son, William Anthony (Tony) Stewart, three
brothers, Mike Willman of Fort Wayne, Indiana, John Willman of Fort Myers, Florida and John N. Stewart of Milton, Kentucky; his sisters, Jessie (Jennie) Copeland of Madison, Margurite Bedwell of Ormand Beach, Florida, Loren Mavromati of Redondo Beach, California and Darragh Wilson of Columbus, Indiana; several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and his friends in Shelbyville that took such good care of him.
