Michael Gerard Stika, age 68, of Madison, Indiana, and son of the late Robert and Dorothy (Hruska) Stika, Sr., was born February 7, 1955, in Cresco, Iowa. He attended Holy Trinity Catholic Elementary School and Crestwood High School in Cresco, IA. He was united in matrimony to the former Yvonne Todd on July 31, 2015 in Fishers, Indiana. He retired from farming. He was a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus in Iowa, and member of Holy Spirit Trinity Catholic Church and Prince of Peace Catholic Church. He enjoyed woodworking, rescuing vintage tools, and gardening. Mr. Stika passed away on March 8, 2023 at Kindred Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.
His life will be cherished by his wife, Yvonne of 7 years of Madison; his sisters: Mary Cheville, of Ames, IA, Shirley (Stewart) Nelson, of Ames, IA, Geralyn (Fred) Smith, of Waukon, IA; his brothers: Robert (Colleen) Stika, Jr., of Cresco, IA, Ron (Elaine) Stika, of Cresco, IA, and his sister-in-law, Mary Jane Stika.
In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Denise Stika, Gerald Stika, Dale Stika, and Helen Watson.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Protivin, Iowa.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Holy Trinity Parish in Protivin, IA or the Knights of Columbus Seminarian Fund. Contributions may be made at the Lytle Welty Funeral Home or at lytlewelty.com/below.
