Nancy Carol Garriott

Nancy Carol Garriott, age 77, of Madison, Indiana, the daughter of the late Harry Lloyd and Anna Florence (Murphy) Lloyd Hardesty, was born on September 26, 1946, in Carrollton, Kentucky. On November 22, 1963, she was united in marriage to Steve Garriott and they were blessed with one daughter, Tiffini. Nancy was baptized at the First Baptist Church of Carrollton when she was a child and was a member there for many years.

For 38 years, she worked for Jay-C Food Company and Kroger, primarily in the meat department. Nancy retired in 2012. Nancy's family and friends will remember her work ethic, dedication, determination, and resilience in all that she did.

Nancy's world revolved around her daughter and grandchildren. She spent her life ensuring their happiness and wellbeing. She was so many things to each of them, but above all, they will remember her as their biggest fan. Nancy loved the outdoors especially on sunny days, working in her yard and with her flowers, watching the University of Kentucky Basketball team, reading her Bible, and loving and caring for all the family pets. Ms. Garriott passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at the Hickory Creek of Madison.

Her life will be cherished by her daughter: Tiffini Poling, and her husband, Danny of Madison; her grandchildren: Brooke Wynn and her husband, Derek, Sydney Kiefer and her husband, Case, Riley Poling, and Storm Poling, all of Madison; her great-grandchildren: Sutton, Knox, and Blaire Wynn; and her step-father: James Hardesty of Carroll County, Kentucky. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister: Barbara Hewitt in 2015 and her niece, Angelia Doll in 2023.

Private family services will be held.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Madison-Jefferson County Animal Shelter. Contributions may be made at the Lytle Welty Funeral Home or below.
