Patricia Schuring, age 82, of Madison, Indiana, and the daughter of the late William Morgan and Ora Pearl (King) Mays, was born on Sunday, January 25, 1942, in Hanover, Indiana. She was a 1960 graduate of Valley High School in Lucasville, Ohio. She worked as a bank teller at Fifth Third Bank in Cincinnati, Ohio and then became a secretary at the University of Cincinnati. She moved back to Hanover and began working at Hanover College. For a period of time, she took time off to be a homemaker and a stay at home mom before returning to work at Hanover Presbyterian Church. Most recently, she was the faculty secretary at Classic Hall at Hanover College where she retired in 2020.
Pat was an avid reader and enjoyed going to the library frequently. She loved to spend time with her yellow lab, Zoey, going on coffee dates with friends, and spending time with close friends and family. She was a lifelong Christian and a member of Hanover Presbyterian Church. Ms. Schuring passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at the Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.
Her life will be cherished by her son: Peter Schuring and his significant other: Kylie Liddle of Madison; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by Billy Mays, Roberta Kirk, Rachel Hawk, and Becky Brawner, all from Hanover.
Pastor Chris Denney will conduct funeral services at 3:00 PM Friday, April 19, 2024 at Lytle Welty Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, on Madison's hilltop. Friends and family may call at the Lytle Welty Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Vail Chapel from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, April 18, 2024, and from 2:00 PM until the time of the service on Friday.
