Phillip L. Sachleben, age 76, of Milton, Kentucky, and the son of the late John W. and Virginia (Hamilton) Sachleben, was born on June 22, 1946, on the family farm in Milton. He was a farmer his entire life and was well known for employing young men and women on the farm. He was a great father and had a love for cats and International Harvester Tractors. In his spare time, he enjoyed guns and was a true marksman. He became a Kentucky Colonel in 2019 and was a member of the Milton Baptist Church and the Trimble County, Kentucky Cattleman's Association. Mr. Sachleben passed away on Monday, May 8, 2023 at his residence in Milton.
His life will be cherished by his children: Suzy (John) Turner of Milton, Andy (Tasha) Sachleben of Milton, and Joe (Fawn) Sachleben, of Edmond, Oklahoma; his brother: JW "Frankie" Sachleben, of Bedford, Kentucky; his grandchildren: Johnny, Jacoby, Easton, Enslee, Bethany, Dalton (Cheyenne), Wyatt, and Jackson; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, John W. Sachleben who passed away in May of 1980; his mother, Virginia Sachleben who passed away in November of 1992; his brother, Jerry Sachleben who passed away in March of 1991; his grandson, Jacob Perry Sachleben who passed away in January of 1990; and his great niece, Lindsey Sachleben who passed away on February 6, 2017.
Pastor Jim Ivey and Brother Aaron Snelling will conduct funeral services at 1:00 PM Saturday, May 13, 2023 at Lytle Welty Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, on Madison's hilltop with interment to follow in St. Peters Lutheran Cemetery in Milton, Kentucky. Friends and family may call at the Lytle Welty Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Vail Chapel from 10:00 AM until the time of the service on Saturday.
Phillip was a Co-Cub/Boy Scout Troop Leader with his good friend Bobby Stewart from 1989-1992. He loved doing this, and shared memories of it for years after. His Pallbearers are members of that troop: Kenneth Payton, Jordan Stewart, Daniel Young, Barry Penick, Jeremy Sachleben, and Ryan Wardlow.
