Phyllis J. Hensley

Life story Phyllis J. Hensley, age 79, of Madison, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at the King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison. Born April 14, 1938 in Switzerland County, Indiana, she was the daughter of Graham Edward and Gertrude Mae (Harmon) Banta. On February 25, 1955, she was united in marriage to Charles Raymond Hensley. Mrs. Hensley retired from the fabric sales department of the Madison Walmart store. She and her late husband also owned and operated a grocery store for many years. She was a member of Lick Branch Baptist Church. She will be sadly missed by one sister and her husband, Charlotte and Carlos May of Hanover, and one grandson, Michael Hensley of Denver, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on July 5, 2014; two sons: Michael W. Hensley on December 1, 1976 and Dennis D. Hensley on September 17, 2014 and one sister, Velma Jo McKay on January 11, 2011. The Reverend Bernard Kiser will conduct memorial services at 10:00 AM Monday, March 5, 2018 at Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, 117 Holt Drive, Madison. Interment will be in Springdale Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the from to 9:30 to 10:00 AM Monday, March 5.
