Mr. Robert Hartley "Bob" Laughlin, age 77, of Madison, Indiana, and the son of the late Robert W. and Alice (Hoffman) Laughlin, was born on July 20, 1944, in Warren, Ohio. His family moved to Madison in 1954 and he was a 1963 graduate of Madison Consolidated High School. He was a member of the Indiana National Guard and worked at the Jefferson Proving Grounds after high school. He was united in marriage to the former Wanda June Crafton on October 4, 1975 in Milton, Kentucky. In 2006, he retired as a master machinist from the Indiana Kentucky Electric Corporation after thirty years. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of the Madison Elks Lodge No. 524 where he served as Exalted Ruler in the early 1980's, and a lifelong member of the Sunrise Golf Course.
In his spare time, he loved golfing, spending time at Sunrise Golf Course, classic cars, taking meticulous care of his yard and home, and working with his hands to fix and build anything you can imagine. Bob loved dogs, particularly his dogs: Brandy and Ralphie, and his granddogs: Gus, Rocco, and Carl. He was a hilarious man who always knew how to lighten the mood and played the best practical jokes. More than anything, his greatest joy was his two sons and his grandchildren. Mr. Laughlin passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at his residence in Madison with his family by his side.
His life will be cherished by his wife of 46 years, W. June of Madison; his sons: Joshua H. Laughlin of Louisville, Kentucky, and Zachary W. Laughlin and his wife, Lindsey of Madison; his sister: Patti Montgomery of Madison; his sister-in-law: Lisa Shrader and her husband, Mark of Milton, Kentucky; his grandchildren: Mary Jane Laughlin and Thomas W.
