Ruby Monroe Obituary

Life story Ruby D. Monroe, age 59, of Lexington, Indiana, and daughter of Boyd Monroe and Reba D. Caldwell, was born June 23, 1960, in Paragould, Arkansas. She was a member of Scaffold Lick Baptist Church in Blocher, Indiana where she was a part of the Women Mission Circle. She was also a member of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of Madison and an organization that provided scholarships for students and Christmas for families at Southwestern Jefferson County Consolidated Schools. She enjoyed dancing, crocheting, sewing, making pot holders, coloring, watching old movies, princess movies, holding and playing with her babies, and was particularly fond of Charlie Boyd Daniels and Lauren Avery Rose. She also enjoyed putt-putt golf, camping, fishing, bowling, attending Elvis shows with her friend, Travis Albertson, watching sports games and spending blessed time with her family and friends. Ruby Monroe passed away on Friday, January 17, 2020 at her residence in Lexington. Her life will be cherished by her mother, Reba Caldwell of Hanover; her sisters: April Beavers and her husband, Jim of Lexington and Christian Smith of Hanover; her brother: Parrish Monroe and his wife, Anna Marie of Cottondale, Florida; her nieces: Jessica Beavers, Jennifer Berry and her husband, John, Leanne Beavers, Casey McQueary and her husband, Shane; her nephews: Joshua McCoy and his wife, Stephanie, Jason Beavers, Parrish Monroe and his wife, Tusdie, Aaron Beavers and his wife, Alba, Zachary Monroe and his wife, Megan; several aunts, uncles, cousins, great nieces and great nephews, and many close friends and other family members. The Monroe family would like to thank her amazing caregivers: Dr. Israel and his staff, Dr. Ellis, Dr. Lisle and his staff, Sound Solutions of Madison, King's Daughters' Health and KDH Hospice. She was preceded in death by her father, Boyd Monroe, two grandmothers: Daisy Caldwell and Eva Monroe, two grandfathers: George Caldwell and Boyd Monroe Sr., several aunts and uncles, and her best friend, Sherri Townsend. Reverend David Culley will conduct funeral services at 1:00 PM Thursday January 23, 2020 at Lytle Welty Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, on Madison's hilltop with interment to follow in Hanover Cemetery in Hanover, Indiana. Friends and family may call at the Lytle Welty Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel from 11:00 AM until the time of the service on Thursday. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Spina Bifida Association, National Brain Injury Association of America or Gideon International.
