Sibylline (Fagg) Robinson

Life story Sibylline Robinson, age 101, of Madison, Indiana and the daughter of the late Frank and Effa (Demaree) Fagg, was born September 20, 1918, in Jefferson County, Indiana. She graduated from Hanover College in Hanover, Indiana with a degree in teaching. She taught after graduation in Columbus, Indiana schools but later returned to her favorite system, Jefferson County, where she taught fifth grade at Central Elementary (now Ryker's Ridge Elementary) until retirement. On January 24, 1946, she married Joseph Robinson upon his return from active duty in the United States Army. This union of Sibylline and Joseph brought them a son, Johnny Joe. She was active in her profession of teaching, but she found time to beautify her home and also take care of Johnny Joe. She was a devoted mother and wife, who always kept her family's needs in mind. Her son, Johnny Joe, was always #1 in Sibylline and Joseph's lives. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, cooking, sewing, and was of the Methodist faith. Mrs. Robinson passed away on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at the Hickory Creek at Madison. Her life will be cherished by her son, Johnny Joe of Sellersburg, Indiana; her brother-in-law, Gilbert Robinson and his wife, Mary of Jefferson County, Indiana; her nieces and nephews, Tina (Shelby) Jones, Rhonda Jordan, Tonya (Steve) Jones, David and Jonathan Miller, Debbie, Keith and Gary Meredith, Cathy Courtney, Lois Smith, Beverly Robinson, Jana McKee, Linda Sweeney and Steven Robinson; several other, great and great-great nieces and nephews; and her extended family at Hickory Creek at Madison, In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and one brother, Kenneth Fagg. Reverend Monty Mahoney will conduct funeral services at 1:00 PM Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at Lytle Welty Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, 117 Holt Drive, on Madison's hilltop with interment to follow in Brooksburg Cemetery in Brooksburg, Indiana. Friends and family may call at the Lytle Welty Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel from 11:00 AM until the time of the service on Wednesday.
