Life story Sonja Lou Ellis, age 78, formerly of Lexington, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at her home in Fort Myers, Florida. Born on August 12, 1938 in Paris, Illinois, she was the daughter of Walter H. and Rita Marie (Glick) Collier. Mrs. Ellis was a graduate of Shortridge High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was a homemaker, and she and her late husband, Donald, moved to Florida in 1979 where she was an active member of Grace Bible Church in Fort Myers. She was a wonderful woman, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be sadly missed by three daughters: Seana Anderson and her husband, Frank of Punta Gorda, Florida, Sharon Davis of Port Charlotte, Florida, and Teresa Miller and her husband, Greg of Fort Myers; one son, Kevin Ellis and his wife, Dora of Inverness, Florida; one brother, William Collier and his wife, Carol of Fort Myers; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Donald Ellis, who passed away on October 6, 2004. No services are planned in Indiana. Interment will be in New Bethel Cemetery near Chelsea, Indiana. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Hope Hospice of Fort Myers, Florida. Contributions may be made at any of the Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service locations. Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements.
