Life story

Susie "Elaine" Rodgers, age 46, of Carrollton, Kentucky, and the daughter of Kathy (Hooker) and Doug Elsbury, was born on August 28, 1974, in Madison, Indiana. She graduated from Carroll County High School and was a homemaker. On July 15, 1995, she was united in marriage to Shawn Rodgers in Carrollton. She was a member of the Covehill Baptist Church and enjoyed holiday gatherings, music, traveling, shooting sports, cooking, and taking care of her home.  Mrs. Rodgers passed away on February 12, 2021 at her residence in Carrollton.

Her life will be cherished by her husband, Shawn of Carrollton; her parents, Kathy and Doug Elsbury of Carrollton; her daughter: Nevada Starr Rodgers, of Louisville, Kentucky; her son, Jordan Thomas Rodgers, of Carrollton; her step-son, Brandon Christopher Rodgers, of Redding, California; her sister: Jamie Elsbury, of Indianapolis, Indiana; her brother: Ben Elsbury, of Fishers, Indiana; her great-aunt, Phyllis Wynn of Madison; and several aunts, uncles, neices, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents and one sister.

Reverend Kenny Stangle will conduct funeral services at 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at Lytle Welty Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, on Madison's hilltop with interment to follow in Kent Cemetery near Lexington, Indiana. Friends and family may call at Lytle Welty Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel from 12:00 PM until the time of service on Tuesday.
