Thomas Earl Turner, age 81, of Madison, Indiana, and the son of the late Earl and Bernice (Eaglin) Turner, was born on September 22, 1940, in Madison. On April 16, 1960, he was united in marriage to the former Beulah Jane Voris in Madison. Over the years, he worked at Pearl Packing, Madison Chemical, and Williamson Metal Works (later known as Armor Plastics). In his spare time, he enjoyed playing softball, fishing, collecting stuff and going blackberry picking. He was a member of the Major Samuel Woodfill Post #9, American Legion and was a former member of the Eagles Lodge. Mr. Turner passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at his residence in Madison.
His life will be cherished by his wife of 62 years, Jane of Madison; his children: John Turner and his wife, Tammy, Diana Kernen and her husband, Richard, James Earl Turner, and Charlie Bob Turner, all of Madison; his grandchildren: Mark Kernen, Sarah Kernen, Stephanie Turner, Addie Dwyer, Lindsey Whittle, Lacy Turner, Dakota Voris, Kayla Messmore, and Brittany Jansen; and fifteen great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Midge Frost; his brother, Robert Turner; and his grandson, Derrick Turner.
Private family memorial services will be held.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Jefferson County Animal Shelter. Contributions may be made at the Lytle Welty Funeral Home or below.
