Warren R. Stephens

Warren R. Stephens, age 70, of Madison, Indiana, and the son of the late Lester and Myrtle (Jackson) Stephens, was born on August 26, 1951, in Carrollton, Kentucky. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. On July 25, 1970, he was united in marriage to the former Bonnie Ruth Johnson in Celina, Tennessee and this union was blessed with two daughters: Kimberly and Michelle. He worked in maintenance at the First Baptist Church of Madison for several years. He loved playing the piano and performing live music at different venues. Mr. Stephens passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at Norton King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison.

His life will be cherished by his daughters: Kimberly Stephens, of Louisville, Kentucky, and Michelle Stephens and her companion, Jesse Sizemore of Madison; his grandchildren: Ryan Linville and Nicholas Stephens; his sisters: Phyllis Stephens, of Madison and Vickie Stephens Banks, of Hanover, Indiana; his brother: Michael Stephens and his wife, Renie, of Madison; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 46 years, Bonnie Stephens who passed away on May 17, 2016; his grandson, Carriag Bailon; his brothers: Ronny, Grover, and Gary Stephens; his sister: Geneva Breeden; and one infant son.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Jefferson County Veterans Council. Contributions may be made at the Lytle Welty Funeral Home or below.
