Xavier Barnes

Life story Xavier Barnes age, 20, of Indianapolis, Indiana, formerly of Madison, passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2017 in Indianapolis. He was born September 1, 1996 in Marion County, Indiana, the son of Darren Barnes and Shannon (Stewart) Lehmkuhler, Mr. Barnes was a graduate of Madison Consolidated High School and a full time student at IVY Tech Community College in Indianapolis in the HVAC Program. While in high school, he was active in all sports, but kept up with baseball where he was a starter for four years in high school. Coach Kring was his mentor, and had a big impact in his life. He enjoyed BMX biking, as well as the outdoors, mountain biking, hiking, and listening to music. In addition to being a full time student, he worked for Indiana Geo Thermal in Indianapolis, and previously worked in construction with his father. He planned on joining the United States Army this summer. With Saint Paul Catholic Church in Tell City, he had been on three missionary trips: Nashville, Tennessee, Kenosha, Wisconsin, and Saint Louis, Missouri. He will be sadly missed by his mother, Shannon Lehmkuhler of Tell City; his father, Darren Barnes of Madison; one sister, Kali Lehmkuhler of Tell City; two brothers: Myles and Trenton Barnes of Madison; his step father of nine years, Mark Lehmkuhler; paternal grandparents: Pat and Jerry Barnes of Madison; maternal grandparents, Bill and Martha Lehmkuhler of Tell City; and three uncles: Tony Barnes of Dupont, Indiana, Troy Barnes of Columbus, Indiana, and Michael Lehmkuhler of Evansville, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Lorene "Sis" Stewart. The Reverend Robert Leach will conduct funeral services at 2:00 PM Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, 117 Holt Drive, Madison, with interment to follow in Springdale Cemetery. Friends and family may call at Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, from 4:00 to 9:00 PM Wednesday, and from 12:00 to 2:00 PM Thursday.
